Dr. Robert A. Silver

Dr. Robert Silver
*Dr. Robert Silver recently retired in the year of 2012.
Dr. Silver was raised in Brooklyn, New York. After attending Colgate University, he graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1967. Dr. Silver then enlisted in the United States Navy and served our country from 1967 to1969.
During his tour of duty Dr. Silver was deployed to Vietnam. During this time he learned how to allay people’s phobias. The men he treated were the bravest guys in combat, but not in the dental chair.
In Vietnam Dr. Silver named his facility “Gentle Dental” where he provided 24-hour emergency treatment six days a week, offering the highest quality of care possible. Upon completion of service, he retired the rank of Lieutenant Commander at which time his dream of Gentle Dental was founded here on Long Island.
Until his retirement in 2012, Dr. Silver continued his innovative ideas by serving on the Board of Directors for Animal Aid, by founding Dentally Driven, our Mobile Dental Van, and practicing Holistic Dentistry.
