Dr. Tamer Barsom

Dr. Barsom grew up in Egypt where he earned his BDS from Cairo University Dental School. Dr. Barsom moved to the United States in 2010 and received his DDS degree from the University of Colorado in 2014. He then moved to New York to do his General Practice Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital where he received the Dr. Benjamin s Recant Award for Clinical Excellence in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Barsom strives to keep updated with the newest technologies as well as the new advances in all aspects of dentistry.
Why Did You Become A Dentist?
Growing up I knew I wanted to be in the medical profession; I wanted to help others. My father was a dentist and as a child I was able to observe his passion for the profession. Combining my propensity of working with my hands and the firsthand knowledge of my father’s enjoyment of his profession, a career in dentistry seemed the natural choice.
What Do You Like Most About Being A Dentist?
As a dentist, I feel the ability to help patients with their dental issues and being able to create beautiful smiles is rewarding.
How Do You Spend Your Free Time?
I enjoy traveling, playing sports and spending time with my wife and sons, George and Philopateer.
