Why did you become a dentist?
I wanted to help people. I’d originally intended to go to medical school. Two weeks before the dental admission test, I realized that dentistry was what I wanted to do. Being a dentist allows me to help people smile, feel good, and be healthier.
What do you like most about being a dentist?
The people! I love interacting with patients and educating them. I work in partnership with my patients and empower them to make good decisions about their oral health. It’s rewarding to see patients, who come in with fear, leave surprised that their experience was not painful. I like changing patients’ expectation of dentistry and helping them understand how dentistry can prevent future problems.
How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and traveling. If I could, I would spend all my free time at Walt Disney World!
