Dr. Yom grew up in Plainview, New York, and attended New York University for both her undergraduate and dental degrees. After receiving her DDS from NYU College of Dentistry, she completed a General Practice Residency at NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn. She had the privilege to complete an additional year of training at NYU Langone Long Island, where she served as the chief resident. Her dedication to continuing education and staying current with the latest advancements in dentistry is reflected by her Fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry. After spending time working in Upstate New York, she is excited to be back home on Long Island and a part of the Gentle Dental family!
Why did you become a dentist?
I’ve always known I wanted to be in healthcare and help people, but I also loved art and anything hands on. Dentistry ended up being the perfect mix of both because it lets me care for people while also being creative every day.
What is your favorite part of being a dentist?
What I love most about being a dentist is building relationships with patients and seeing the positive impact a healthy smile can have on their lives.
How do you spend your free time?
Outside of the office, you can usually find me reading a good book, making pottery, or trying new recipes. I also enjoy traveling to new places and making lasting memories with my fiancé.
